Rhi (b. 2002) is an artist shaped like a teddy bear. Their artistic practice finds its home within families of soft sculpture, sewing, and drawing. With these languages in their toolbox, the body of Rhi’s work explores themes of the morute; what is cute and innocent that may morph into morbidity, and become unsettling. The experimental nature of their practice allows them to work in interdisciplinary fields -- Rhi is always looking for new things to learn and to turn cute and nightmare-ish.
Rhi is currently based in Baltimore, Maryland, where they received their BFA in Fiber (2025) from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Rhi has worked on commissions with artists Mei Semones and Crisshell Winn to create album covers, merchandised goods, and shop logos.
I look forward to working together!
